Pumpkin after harvest from Briar bush

As school started session again, we re assembled in the Living Library Garden and talked dirt. Reviewing what we learned about compost, roots, plant structures and planting seeds. For the first time some of the kids saw the vegeables that grew from the seed that was planted in May. We found one last pumpkin, the only survivor from the hungry squirrels. It grew in a briar bush and went undetected all season!!!
